Raga Bhoopali is a pentatonic raga which consists of only FIVE notes: SA RE GA PA DHA SA –
Where Penta means five (as in Pentagon) and Tonic means having tones
In Indian classical, pentatonic words is known as ‘Audav’; Audav means five. Therefore Raga Bhoopali is an Audav Raga.
